Having a bout with allergic rhinitis is no walk in the park. Sneezing and dripping seem not to end. And it to think you were just fine and in tiptop shape a moment earlier. Allergic rhinitis affects a lot of people, and their experience s were never pleasant. There a lot of anti-allergy drugs that can be bought without prescriptions from doctors and some can be bought from any online drugstore. One of which is Flonase.
Flonase (generic name: fluticasone) is a steroid-based anti-allergy drug used to treat allergic rhinitis. The drug mimics a substance called hydrocortisone, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands. At the same time, Flonase inhibits the body’s production of histamine, a primary substance secreted in response to an allergic reaction.
Flonase is known to alleviate symptoms of allergic rhinitis such as sneezing, runny nose, and nasal congestion. However, like all drugs, practicing precaution is a must. Flonase can lower the body’s number of blood cells that fight off infections, making a person vulnerable to infectious diseases such chicken pox and measles. Also, Flonase cannot function well if a person is still suffering from a sickness or had an infection of any kind.
Although excessive amount of steroids can cause serious complications, such as peptic ulcers, cataracts, weakened tissues, and high blood pressure, these side effects only occur with oral steroids. Flonase is a nasal spray and ingredients in nasal sprays are not likely to be absorbed by the body.. But even with such assurance, one should be careful of not spraying too much of the drug.
The patent on Flonax owned by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK), Flonax’s manufacturers, expired in May 2004. The United States Food and Drug Authority then allowed the production of generic versions of Flonase. Cheap Flonase, one could say. But GSK was able to obtain a restraining order from a federal judge in Baltimore, The restraining order, which expired in March 2006, prevented the marketing and selling approved generic variants of Flonase. People still had to buy Flonase for their allergic rhinitis. Now that the restraining order has expired, production and selling of generic versions of such drug can now proceed.
